We’re a friendly auditioned chamber-choir, rehearsing weekly in Chesterton, Cambridge. We put on about three main concerts each year, with a number of smaller and informal charity events, carol concerts and similar dotted around these. Our core repertoire focuses on well-known major choral works (recent performances include: Mozart Requiem, Poulenc Gloria, Haydn Nelson Mass, Ayers The Christmas Truce or Parry Songs of Farewell) but we do also enjoy shorter pieces or suites. We perform a wide range of music, from early Renaissance composers, through to modern 20th Century music, and have often premiered new pieces by local composers.
The choir is made up of amateur singers from around Cambridgeshire. Soloists are chosen by audition from amongst choir members. Our musical director is Brian Watkins; recent musical directors include Peter Horley and Karol Jaworski.
